From the Moesgård Museum's description of this display:
"After more than 2000 years in the bog, the Grauballe Man was almost wholly conserved. It fell to the conservator to find the recipe for how the process could be finished. After 19 months spent in baths with extracts made from a total of 875 kg of oak-bark the conservation of the Grauballe Man was complete. In order to prevent shrinkage he was then laid in a bath with Turkey-red oil and finally coated in flycerine, lanolin and cod-liver oil."
